Will the campaign be released for Left 4 Dead 2?
The campaign will initially be released for Left 4 Dead 1 and a Left 4 Dead 2 port should follow a few weeks later. We can't guarantee the Left 4 Dead 2 port yet, because it's not as easy as some people think is it to port a complex campaign like I Hate Mountains from Left 4 Dead 1 to Left 4 Dead 2. There's missing models, and there's missing Left 4 Dead 1 survivors (obviously), which means there's also missing voices, and missing textures, and missing sounds, and missing entities (from the Crash Course update), and missing particle systems and missing infected populations, etc. We don't really see how easy it is as soon as you start using most of the features the game offers, but we'll try.

hehe, about every time I play this campaign now, I notice how ppl have a hard time finding that one cruicial door that will lead to the top of the mansion. It's sitting almost hidden, on the right side of the overpass over the minigun and it doesnt seem obvious But if you know it you'll get the hang of going there systematicly.

Well, my guess is that L4D2 expert is more challenging than L4D1 expert. Because we don't have that much control over what's happening on the infected side, that's the Director's job.

This forum will help us track the problems you may encounter in the campaign. To be the most efficient, please read these few guidelines:

Specify which version of the game you're playing on, Left 4 Dead 1 or Left 4 Dead 2.
Specify which version of the campaign you're using, the info is in the README.txt provided with the download.
Be as precise as possible because the levels are big and detailled.
Try to provide a screenshot of the problem, you can use hosts like tinypic.com or imageshack.us. and the forum's ⌠IMG⌡ or ⌠URL⌡ tags to embed it.
Take a quick look into the list to see if the problem hasn't already been reported and into our list to see if we're already aware of it.

Also, we'll close the topics when the corresponding bugs will have been fixed in our development version. That means it will be fixed on our side, but only on the next release for you.

It would be cool yeah, but most of the stuff we add in the Left 4 Dead 2 version is stuff that isn't available in Left 4 Dead 1. So that sounds impossible.
